Julie Meghan Brown is an LGBTQIA+, SAG-AFTRA (so many letters!) voice actor based in Los Angeles, CA.Julie has been living in fictional worlds for as long as she can remember. She started out by writing “novels”, riddled with grammar errors and descriptions of school bullies. By age 11, she got her hands on a video camera, and spent the rest of her childhood writing, shooting, acting, and editing for her own Youtube channel. Then, it was on to Chapman University, where she majored in Film Editing and performed in theatre club musicals. After graduation, she landed her first job as a Production Assistant. Immediately she knew - as much as she loves post production, acting is her true passion.For the past 7 years, she has been training extensively. Scene study, Meisner, commercial, improv, private coaching, she did it all, eventually securing representation and many fulfilling on-camera and theatre roles. However, it was her post production work that opened her eyes to the world of voiceover. While working as a Post Coordinator on ‘Bridgerton’, she was given the opportunity to record temp ADR, and absolutely fell in love.Now, Julie’s full focus is on voiceover - she works in animation, video games, commercials, and audio dramas, but has a special affinity for dubbing, both live-action and anime. When she locks eyes on that screen, everything drops away, and she’s instantly transported into the fictional world in front of her. As a child, her greatest wish was to jump inside her TV screen and live with her favorite characters. With this career, she finally can.
A few facts about Julie:
She was a figure skater for over 15 years and competed as a member of Team USA.
She has a beautiful cat son (Cat Stevens).
She is an expert at Dance Dance Revolution.
She won ‘Best Actress’ at the 2022 Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Festival… and she spent most of the film acting against inanimate objects.
In complete opposition to her personality, her favorite shows are ones that cause the most emotional distress. More than likely, she’s watching something like The Promised Neverland, Bojack Horseman, Attack on Titan, Your Lie in April, etc...
She was never an anime fan, until her roommates forced her to give it a try. The 2nd photo is a snapchat from that night that will forever live in infamy:
